H. Theophile designs and manufactures high-end door and cabinet hardware in Manhattan, NY.   Various precious metals and materials including rock crystal, leather, and stone are used in manufacturing.  The company is renowned for its diverse historical and contemporary hardware designs, including trims, hinges, and lock mechanisms. H. Theophile specializes in custom hardware design for private residences, yachts, high-end developer projects, and more.

Our sunny and open loft design studio offers a friendly, informal and collegial work environment steps from Madison Square Park.  

Role Description

This is a 3-6 month freelance project with on-site work required in our studio office.  Days and hours are flexible with a minimum of 2-3 days in office. Key responsibilities for project include:

·        Update online product catalogue with new photographs of new products

·        Image or photo editing will include cropping, image enhancement and retouching, color correction, cleaning up

backgrounds, and re-sizing

·        Organize, name, tag and file images in online image database

·        Photograph products and/or assist photographer in product shoots

·        Add to online database and catalog and proof captions and text

Candidates should have special interest in interior design, luxury products, and art history.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in photography, graphic design, or digital illustration, or related field
• 2-5+ years of digital photography experience, photo retouching, or digital image editing
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Bridge, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Experience in retouching photos or images of jewelry, watches, metalwork, and luxury design goods a plus
• Experience and understanding of photo lighting, styling and image formats
• Strong portfolio showcasing design
• Attention to detail a must with high level of skill and accuracy
