Vacancy: DevOps (Test) Engineer – KPN

Introduction
For our client KPN, we are looking for an experienced DevOps (Test) Engineer with a strong background in the telecom sector. You will join a self-organizing DevOps team of senior engineers working on network provisioning, automation, virtualization, and the transition to new technologies. The team operates within an agile environment and maintains a 24/7 support mindset.
What will you do?
As a DevOps (Test) Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and enhancement of automated testing environments. Your main responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, and executing test plans and scripts
- Performing functional and API tests
- Implementing and maintaining automated test environments
- Enhancing regression tests in collaboration with stakeholders
- Defining test strategies in cooperation with team members and business stakeholders
- Analyzing test results and reporting findings
- Proactively identifying issues and ensuring high software quality
- Actively communicating with relevant stakeholders
Who are you?
You are a proactive professional with strong technical and analytical skills. You meet the following requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in software testing, including 3 years in the telecom sector
- Experience scripting on Windows machines
- Hands-on experience with automation frameworks and tools
- Proven expertise in QA and functional testing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in automation testing using Python, Shell scripting, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines
- Certified in manual (functional) testing (e.g., ISTQB) and test automation
- Skilled in SOAPUI, POSTMAN, Jenkins, Python, SQL, and Groovy
- AWS Cloud Practitioner certified (minimum)
- Understanding of telecom technologies, including mobile network call flows and 3GPP
- Familiarity with Ericsson mobile core network components (e.g., HLR/HSS, UDM, UDR) is a plus
- Experience with mobile provisioning and number portability
- Affinity with virtualized and containerized network functions
- Awareness of network security practices
- Agile mindset and team-oriented attitude
- Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus)
