DevOps Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure)

Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: New York City (Hybrid)

Compensation: $170,000 – $200,000 base + bonus + equity (based on experience)

We’ve partnered with a fast-moving Fintech startup. They're on a mission to bring cutting-edge insights and automation to financial workflows and cloud infrastructure is core to making that happen.

The team is small, technical, and highly product-focused. They’re looking for a DevOps Engineer who wants to take ownership of their AWS infrastructure, drive automation, and help scale the systems that power their product.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of cloud infrastructure in a fast-paced AWS environment
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) for rapid, reliable deployment
• Automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform
• Containerize and orchestrate applications using Docker (Kubernetes/EKS coming soon)
• Implement observability tooling using Datadog, OpenTelemetry, and custom metrics
• Support security and compliance efforts, including IAM best practices and secrets management
• Collaborate closely with the tech team to improve system reliability and deployment workflows
• Contribute to internal tooling and dashboards used by developers and product teams

Experience

• 3–5 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure roles
• Deep AWS expertise across EC2, VPC, IAM, Lambda, S3, etc.
• Proficient with Terraform, Docker, GitHub Actions, and cloud automation
• Hands-on experience with observability tooling (Datadog, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, etc.)
• Exposure to Python or React is a plus (especially for internal tooling)
• Comfortable taking initiative and working autonomously in a lean, high-ownership team
