We are currently looking for a highly motivated DevOps Engineer - Monitoring Specialist to join the Cloud Services team in our Belgrade or Novi Sad office.

🦸‍♂️Your contribution

You will work closely with our Engineering and Cloud Services teams as a DevOps Engineer - Monitoring Specialist. Reporting to the VP of Cloud Services, you will be part of a team of 10 DevOps engineers and will collaborate extensively with engineering teams. Your focus will be on optimizing the monitoring processes and improving the overall performance and reliability of our cloud services.

📃Key Responsibilities

• Build and manage Datadog monitoring infrastructure using Terraform, with reusable modules and standardized configuration across environments.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define and implement meaningful SLIs, SLOs, dashboards, and alerts aligned to system health and business goals.
• Maintain deep integration between Datadog and AWS, ensuring visibility across services like EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, ALB/NLB, CloudFront, and others.
• Champion cost-effective monitoring practices, including optimal use of metrics, log retention policies, custom metric strategies, and alerting thresholds.
• Monitor and optimize Datadog and AWS observability costs through automation, usage reviews, and data-driven recommendations.
• Ensure all observability configurations are infrastructure-as-code, version-controlled, and deployed through CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify monitoring gaps, performance issues, and alerting improvements through ongoing analysis.
• Support incident response workflows by ensuring high-fidelity, actionable telemetry is in place.

🎯You have

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles, with a strong focus on monitoring and observability.
• Expertise with Terraform, including managing reusable modules and scalable infrastructure as code.
• In-depth experience with Datadog, including dashboards, monitors, synthetics, logs, APM, and custom metrics.
• Strong knowledge of core AWS services and best practices for observability across EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to manage monitoring costs, including metric volume reduction, efficient logging strategies, and tuning retention policies.
• Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and experienced in CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Familiar with containerized environments (Docker, ECS/Fargate, or EKS) and Linux-based systems.

🦄Ideally you have

• Experience designing observability strategies for serverless and microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with Datadog usage analytics, billing dashboards, and optimization techniques.
• AWS and/or Datadog certifications (e.g., Datadog Certified Metrics Expert, AWS DevOps Engineer).
• Exposure to GitOps workflows and tools like ArgoCD or Flux.
