Our client, a proprietary trading firm in downtown Chicago, is looking for a motivated individual to work in our Chicago office as part of their Trade Desk Support team. This role will handle first and second level support of service requests/incidents in a professional and timely manner.

Customer service and production support are the most important aspects of this role. This role requires the candidate to be local to Chicago as they will need to visit the office approximately once per week.

Responsibilities

● Monitoring and alerting of critical trading system environments

● Proactive identification and resolution of production issues

● Development of tools and driving efficiency/stability improvements/ automation with scripting

● Troubleshooting of complex systems issues

Requirements

● Previous experience in the trading industry

● Strong working knowledge of UNIX environment/Unix commands

● Basic database knowledge (MySQL)

● Strong scripting knowledge - Python/Bash

● Experience using Jira as a ticket/work request system is preferred

● Experience using Grafana/InfluxDB/Icinga also preferred

● Linux desktop support experience

● Network troubleshooting and analysis experience

● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential

● Ability to switch and track various ongoing tasks and issues is required

● Attention to detail in problem solving

● Ability to work under pressure within a dynamic trading environment

● Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
