The Role
Our client is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to support the evolution of their cloud infrastructure and DevOps capabilities. Sitting at the intersection of software, data and platform engineering, this is a strategic role with both technical depth and wide scope. You’ll work across teams to enable automation, scalability, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing scalable, secure infrastructure in partnership with application and data teams.
- Improving deployment workflows, removing manual steps, and promoting continuous delivery practices.
- Supporting engineering teams with platform-related challenges around deployments, access, and performance.
- Modernising toolchains and identifying emerging technologies to support platform evolution.
- Contributing to infrastructure design, policy enforcement, and operational reliability across environments.
Core Experience Required
Candidates should be confident in most of the following areas:
- Strong knowledge of public cloud platforms (Azure preferred), including compute, networking and IAM.
- Proven hands-on use of Terraform in building and managing infrastructure-as-code.
- Experience with containerisation tools (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes), including Helm or similar.
- Comfortable working with CI/CD tooling (ideally GitHub Actions, or similar) in multi-environment pipelines.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Additional Skills That Will Set You Apart
- Understanding of identity management systems such as Azure B2C or Okta.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL or other relational databases at the infrastructure level.
- Operational experience with observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
- A security-conscious mindset and awareness of cloud architecture best practices.
- Interest in growing into a leadership or mentoring role in future.
- Exposure to supporting internal SaaS tools (Jira, Slack, O365, Entra) is a bonus.
