The Position
The division is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer with experience not only in the concepts but the implementation and support of pipelines using Visual Studio Online and/or GIT repos. This specialist will have development experience, expertise in automation with the latest CI/CD tools, and should be very fluent scripting in YAML, Perl, PS, etc. VMware, Jenkins, and Ansible are a must. Experience with security best practices is a big plus. The selected candidate shall work out of the Contour Software Karachi/Lahore/Islamabad office, working as part of the resource-center team, as an extension of the onshore IT team.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain pipelines of continuous integration and deployment to hosted and on-prem environments
- Develop pipeline components, primarily C# programming using .Net Framework and/or .Net Core
- Assist in Software Development
- Perform Code review
- Provide feedback and constructive critiques of system design
- Represent developers at regular stand-up meetings
- Convert existing manual workflows into automated playbooks
- Automate the setup and maintenance of application and database servers (Windows & Linux)
- Strong programming/scripting knowledge - Bash, Python, YAML, PS, etc.
- Software package management
- Troubleshooting of CI/CD pipelines, including network tracing and backend log analysis
- Technically strong and hands-on
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer with previous experience as a Software Developer and /or System Administrator
- 2+ years working with IIS
- 2 years of experience in CI/CD Tools, Jenkins, GitLab
- 2 years of experience with VMware (vCenter)
- 3 years or more experience with Windows and/or Linux (Red Hat & Centos) server administration
- Experience with OpenShift, Docker, or Kubernetes a huge plus
- Experience with monitoring tools such as NewRelic, DataDog or similar
- 2+ years with SQL databases
- Ample experience in scripting
- Solid understanding of client-server application architecture
- Networking skills (Troubleshooting, DNS, tracing)
- Experience working with software installation/upgrading procedures
