Summary

About the Role

We’re looking for a mission-driven, strategic, and detail-oriented Development Manager to lead our fundraising efforts and ensure our organization continues to grow and thrive. You’ll work closely with the Executive Director, Board, and program staff to shape and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy. Depending on your strengths and the support structure we have in place, this position can be tailored to focus more on donor-facing engagement or development operations.


What You’ll DoPrimary Responsibilities

Fundraising & Donor Relations

  • Lead annual fundraising campaigns in partnership with the Executive Director and Development Committee
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with donors, sponsors, and institutional funders
  • Support Board fundraising efforts and donor stewardship
  • Identify and pursue new funding opportunities across individual, corporate, and foundation sources
  • Assist with fundraising communications and appeals

Grants Management

  • Research, write, and submit grant proposals
  • Maintain a master grants calendar to track deadlines and reporting
  • Collaborate with program staff to gather data and impact stories for proposals and reports


Secondary Responsibilities

Development Operations

  • Work with the Operations Coordinator to manage the donor database and ensure accurate records
  • Draft donor acknowledgments, thank-you letters, and email updates
  • Work with the Finance team on monthly reconciliation and projections

Event Support

  • Help coordinate fundraising events, some of which may occur on evenings or weekends
  • Support sponsorship outreach and donor engagement for events


What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising or development
  • Excellent writing, communication, and project management skills
  • Proficiency with donor databases (specifically DonorPerfect)
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
  • Strategic thinker with attention to detail and deadlines

Note: The compensation package includes PTO, holiday and sick leave pay, a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, and life insurance), a SIMPLE IRA plan with 3% match, and 12 paid holidays, including Christmas through New Year’s Day.


Occasional evening/weekend work required for donor events. Comp time offered for off-hours responsibilities.
