Harbor House of Central Florida- Development Manager (Exempt)
Harbor House of Central Florida is Orange County's state-certified Domestic Violence service provider. We are dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence through comprehensive services, including a 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, and community education.
Position Overview: Harbor House is seeking an experienced, dynamic individual to join our Development Department. The Development Manager works with the CEO and Grants Manager to implement the Harbor House development plan. The Development Manager is responsible for all aspects of special events and supervises the development and volunteer program staff.
Key Responsibilities
Assists CEO in creating the annual development plan and monitoring results including establishing annual goals for special events as well as other performance measures.
Assist the Event Coordinator with the planning of all Agency driven fundraising and special events.
Lead and manage the Development Department.
Tracks goals and budgets of the events and the department as a whole.
Maintains event task lists and delegates appropriate responsibilities to team members.
Serve as staff liaison to Young Professional Committee, and all event planning committees to ensure an effective team approach to fund raising. Prepare meeting notices, agendas, minutes, etc.
Assist with cultivating and soliciting in-kind and monetary donors for special events and annual campaigns, engaging CEO and staff as needed.
Develop and oversee annual mail solicitations for donations.
Oversee and ensure accuracy of the computerized donor management system and run reports.
Maintain entry of all donor and prospect interactions, correspondence, strategies, and research in database.
Initiates and maintains community relationships as they relate to donations.
Gives tours as necessary to build long-term relationships and steward donors.
Ensure that all donors are adequately and immediately thanked for their contributions.
Responsible for providing and maintaining accurate donor records and statistics.
Maintains excellent rapport with the community at large and potential donors always ensuring donor and client information remains confidential.
Oversee social media, marketing and Agency communications.
Support Harbor House training tabling and present at public speaking engagements.
Completes necessary records, outcome measures, schedules, performance appraisals, and timesheets in an accurate and timely manner.
Qualifications
Education: BA/BS degree in Business field, Community or Public Relations preferred.
Experience: 2 years of experience in the non-profit sector with experience in fundraising, special events and donors. Experience with Salesforce preferred.
Discretion: Professional experience may be substituted for formal education at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer.
Licensing: Valid Florida Driver's License with a clean record for the past 5 years. Must be 21 years or older to meet agency insurance requirements.
Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to learn organization-specific software, including databases and content management systems. Strong professional writing and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
Training Requirements: Completion of CORE Competency training within 90 days of hire. Additional mandatory training is required on an annual basis per Agency Policies & Procedures.
