Job Summary

The Development Manager is responsible for leading and growing the fundraising efforts for The GOD’S CHILD Project. This includes cultivating donor relationships, securing major gifts, coordinating fundraising events, and developing campaigns. The ideal candidate is an experienced relationship builder with a passion for international development and faith-aligned service.



Core Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy & Leadership (30%)

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Grow and steward a portfolio of individual, corporate, foundation, and faith-based donors.
  • Identify new funding streams to support U.S., Guatemalan and India programs.
  • Set annual revenue goals and KPIs for development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Director and Executive Director to prioritize funding needs.

Donor Engagement & Communications (25%)

  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward donors through calls, emails, visits, and written communications.
  • Prepare donor materials, case statements, updates, and impact reports.
  • Ensure high-quality donor experiences through personalized communication and gratitude.
  • Create segmented communication strategies for new and recurring donors.

Campaigns and Events (25%)

  • Lead annual campaigns (e.g., Mother’s Day, Year-End, Gala, Cradled in Love).
  • Plan and support small-scale community events and the annual donor gala.
  • Collaborate with program staff to align fundraising with field needs and impact stories.

Development Operations (10%)

  • Maintain accurate donor data and records.
  • Coordinate with finance and operations to ensure effective fund tracking.

Reporting, Learning & Compliance (10%)

  • Track fundraising performance and prepare monthly reports for leadership.
  • Stay current on nonprofit fundraising trends and best practices.
  • Ensure donor confidentiality and compliance with ethical standards.



Qualifications

Required:

  • Commitment to The GOD’S CHILD Project’s mission and values.
  • 5+ years in nonprofit fundraising, development, or donor relations.
  • Proven success securing major gifts and leading campaigns.
  • Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a mission-driven team.
  • Cultural humility and willingness to travel internationally.

Preferred:

  • Experience with donor management systems (e.g., Virtuous).
  • Knowledge of international development.
