Summary

As a Development Manager Datacenter, you will play a pivotal role in the project team, overseeing the technical aspects and ensuring successful execution of data center (re-)design projects. From concept phase to sketch design, you'll be involved in critical decision-making processes. During the preliminary design phase and beyond, you will be responsible for technical detailing, contracting, and realization, including managing the construction team. This will entail developing the design further, outsourcing work within budget and timelines, obtaining environmental permits, and overseeing the realization phase. Your goal is to achieve predictable designs, engineering, and realization of complex projects, aligning with the investment plan and obtaining necessary approvals and permits. Success in this role hinges on your ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. Your main responsibilities are: Ensure compliance with data center design standards, such as Uptime Tier III of EN-50600 and TÜV TSI Standard level 3. Collaborate with local architects to develop designs that meet power connectivity, redundancy, noise level, and emissions requirements for permit acquisition. Coordinate electrical, mechanical, fire safety, security, and telecommunication designs. Manage the overall system design of the building management system. Development including realization of datacenter design projects. Lead the engineering and realization phases, supported by our lead engineer and project team. Develop value engineering initiatives and translate them into decision-making documents. Collaborate with partners to create EPC-contracts that meet safety and quality standards for timely project delivery. Provide technical support and insights to the acquisition team. Contribute to the professionalization of the development team, processes, and standards. Your profile A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or mechanical Engineering. Work experience in data centers, hospital hot floors, shipping, or other mission-critical installation industries. Prior experience with datacenters is preferred. A team player with a keen eye for detail, capable of delivering quality results even under pressure. Willingness to travel internationally. Proficiency in machine safety & RAMS. Knowledgeable in Visio, AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office. Fluent in both Dutch and English. Experience in sustainability engineering is advantageous.
