Summary This is an opportunity to join a strong Chapter team and work closely with the development team, local leadership, regional teams, and an outstanding group of volunteers to increase the reach and impact of the Chapter. This position is based out of Piscataway, NJ with a hybrid model, working in the office 2 days a week and remotely 3 days a week. The Development Coordinator is a donor facing position that organizes, coordinates, implements, and expands a variety of the Chapter's development activities that build and strengthen links to potential and existing volunteers and donors and that grow the Chapter's revenue through corporate, individual, volunteer, and other community involvement. This position also supports chapter fundraising events, as well as marketing and communications efforts, including social media, website, and email marketing. Responsibilities * Supports and maintains the vision, mission, priorities, and guiding principles of Breakthrough T1D. Understands the strategic direction and purpose of the organization and supports the Chapter's fundraising strategies and business needs. * Coordinates, evaluates, and expands fundraising and non-fundraising programs under the direction of the Development Director, and in collaboration with the development team and volunteer leadership. * Helps manage events, logistics support, and donor development activities for the Chapter. Helps develop annual plans for assigned activities, including goals, objectives and follow-up. Develops and delivers presentations, as required, and provides input and suggestions. * Manages NJ Metro Chapter social media and marketing/communications, serving as the chapter lead responsible for local strategizing social media calendar while integrating Breakthrough T1D National HQ resources to reshare; working with the local staff team to support social media posting, social media interaction, and chapter website. * Supports Chapter's monthly e-newsletter - write articles, create blog posts - in collaboration with staff. * Serves as the volunteer lead for the NJ Metro Chapter; working with and assigning volunteers to local events, responding to volunteer inquiries and serving as the lead for National Volunteer Week. * Ensures timely and accurate daily usage of CRM to document activities with donors and volunteers. Creates, updates and revises as needed. * Oversees diverse administrative duties for the Chapter including providing administrative support for fundraising activities, which includes managing fundraising events and donor prospects, supporting solicitations, tracking and acknowledging donations, and preparing information needed for meetings. * Oversees chapter Breakthrough T1D Your Way and Third Party fundraising campaigns. Work in collaboration with Breakthrough T1D constituents to support their fundraising goals, including customer support, coaching, and accurate forecasting of projected revenue. * Support the Breakthrough T1D Walk campaign in partnership with the Development Managers; responsibilities to include but not limited to administration and disbursement of weekly walk reports to P2P team, KPI management and donor facing activities. * Maintains steady communication between team members and committee leaders. * Represents Breakthrough T1D at local community engagement activities, third-party events and plays an integral role at all P2P and Signature events. * Support other fundraising events, chapter activities, and programs as assigned. Qualifications * 2 years of work experience. Event planning and/or fundraising experience is preferred. * Must be a self-starter while also being collaborative and a team player. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and office equipment. Familiarity with Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, Wordpress, Greater Giving, and Canva preferred. * Knowledge of administrative procedures, such as coordination of people and resources, planning, and resource allocation, as well as ability to develop presentations, reports, and business correspondence, manage files and records, and coordinate other office procedures. * Ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers. * Ability to work independently and be resourceful utilizing virtual training and national resources. * Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Ability to write copy and manage social media channels preferred. * Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Active listening, analytical, and problem-solving skills. * Effectively establish priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment. Highly efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure. Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills. * College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Ability to travel locally required. Occasional evening and weekend work required as needed including attendance at occasional chapter events (7-10 times per calendar year). * Ability to travel outside the chapter footprint on occasion when National training offerings are available (1-2 times per calendar year).
