Summary

Join the team at Sacramento’s SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity (MOSAC) and contribute to our thriving community as the Membership and Development Coordinator. This role is central to fostering our membership community, from being the first point of contact for inquiries to administering the multi-point stewardship plan for members. You'll also play a crucial role in our Development Department, managing donation records and assisting in our annual giving and campaign efforts. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with our members, ensuring they are well-supported and informed about our programs and benefits, and to share your enthusiasm for our mission while also contributing to the museum's financial stability and growth.


Responsibilities

  • Respond to membership inquiries with exceptional customer service and feedback handling.
  • Administers the stewardship plans for members, donors, and prospects.
  • Administer the membership component within our Blackbaud Altru database,
  • including membership records, sales, and program registrations.
  • Administer the membership communication tools, ensuring seamless integration,
  • data consistency, and records retention.
  • Maintain accurate donor records throughout the multiple databases (Altru, Social
  • Good, and physical files) and manage all aspects of gift, grant, and pledge documentation.

  • Assist with donor communications, including acknowledgments, recognitions, and charitable gift records within the database.
  • Assist with collecting and recording gifts, grants, and pledge documentation, managing the pledge tracking system, and assisting with timely acknowledgments and tax receipts.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Department to ensure accurate and transparent financial processes.
  • Coordinate with Program and Events Managers to deliver special events and ensure members enjoy a range of programs that satisfy our annual membership engagement goals.
  • Coordinate volunteers that are assisting our department, such as providing administrative support to fulfill community donation requests and membership benefits.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Blackbaud Altru or similar CRM systems, Constant Contact, and Microsoft 365.
  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit fundraising practices and financial principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage
  • effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong capacity for self-
  • direction.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, able to handle multiple
  • priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Associates degree preferred in Communications or related field
  • Minimum two years of relevant experience Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and telephone conversations
  • May require being mobile or active up to 25% of the time

  • Schedule: Typically, Tuesday to Saturday 8-5, with some evening and Sunday work required for activities such as museum events.
