As a Body Interior Trim Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and launch support of interior trim components such as instrument panels, assembly parts, and plastic injection-molded components. You will manage engineering documentation, CAD models, and EBOMs, while ensuring alignment with program goals and manufacturing constraints. This role requires expertise in 3DX, CATIA V5, and GD&T, along with cross-functional collaboration to drive product development and issue resolution.

Engagement Details:

• Length: 9 months contract with potential extension
• Allocation: 100%, full-time
• Start date: Mid March

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop body interior trim components, supporting prototype through production launch.
• Create and manage Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM), including material selection and finishes.
• Release engineering changes (CAD) and ensure proper documentation.
• Track open issues using issue tracking processes and drive communication for resolution.
• Plan part timing to align with the overall program schedule.
• Perform vehicle benchmark studies and technical research, providing data-driven recommendations.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in body interior trim part design, development, and launch.
• Proficiency in 3DX & CATIA V5 for interior trim design.
• Experience in plastic injection molding, RIM (Reaction Injection Molding), and low-cost manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of GD&T, Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).
• Previous OEM or automotive experience preferred.
