The Position

As the Design Manager – Delivery, you will help GURNER™ push the boundaries of design, leading projects from vision to delivery across all business units. You will oversee external and internal aesthetics, amenities, lobbies, interiors, and floor plans, ensuring world-class designs that stand the test of time. This role involves preparing and reviewing plans, specifications, and performance briefs from external consultants, assessing key building systems and contracts, and coordinating materials for project tendering.

You will take the lead in selecting and directing key building systems, exploring value management opportunities, and ensuring apartment layouts and internal spaces align with project briefs and GURNER™ standards. Collaboration with consultants, contractors, and internal teams will be essential to maintaining design integrity throughout construction while addressing challenges to deliver exceptional, innovative, and timeless built environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design process from concept to construction across high-end residential and mixed-use projects, ensuring all outcomes reflect the GURNER™ standard of excellence.
• Manage internal and external consultant teams through all design phases, maintaining quality, design intent, and delivery timelines.
• Collaborate with marketing on creative direction, contributing to display suite design and high-impact project collateral.
• Provide strategic design input across multiple projects, while leading an exclusive portfolio from vision to delivery.
• Prepare and review documentation including design scopes, specifications, performance briefs, and tender packages.
• Shape internal layouts and building systems to meet project briefs, commercial targets, and luxury standards.
• Coordinate key planning processes including consultant inputs for town planning and VCAT submissions.
• Represent the project in engagements with councils, partners, and community stakeholders.
• Support sales teams and purchasers with custom floorplans, interior options, and bespoke design elements.
• Work closely with delivery teams to resolve site issues, review prototypes and shop drawings, and carry out QA inspections to uphold design integrity.

The Successful Candidate

We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

• You will have proven significant experience either within an Architecture / development and or construction background
• A sound understanding of local planning and relevant building controls and be able to prepare a feasibility drawing set which addresses these.
• Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Appreciation for brand and vision within the luxury design space.
