Summary

Jenni Egger Designs (JED) is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Design Support Manager to play a vital role in the seamless operation of our interior design firm. This multifaceted position is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of creative support and operational management with a strong passion for service. The ideal candidate will be responsible for procuring all design selections, materials, and tools necessary for our interior designers to execute their work to completion. In addition, this role includes overseeing key office management duties, coordinating the schedules of trade professionals and vendors, and tracking all inbound and outbound shipments. Beyond logistics, the Design Firm Operations Manager will help develop and implement systems that streamline studio operations, increase team efficiency, and ensure that no detail falls through the cracks in the fast-paced world of high-end interior design.

Objectives

  • Lead and Optimize Daily Operations Through Proactive Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking

Take a hands-on role in managing/leading the day-to-day service and organizational functions of 23 East and design projects. Anticipate operational needs, identify inefficiencies, and apply critical thinking to streamline workflows and resolve issues before they impact progress. This objective requires a high level of autonomy, resourcefulness, and a proactive mindset to keep both office operations and project timelines running smoothly.

  • Manage Procurement, Fulfillment, and On-Site Coordination for Projects

Take ownership of sourcing, ordering, tracking, and scheduling all products, materials, and trade services required for the successful execution of interior design projects. Ensure all elements are accurately delivered, organized, and ultimately located at the appropriate JED locations or job sites, contributing to a seamless project install experience.

  • Drive Efficiency and Quality Through Standardization and Best Practices

Continuously evaluate and improve the firm’s operational methods by developing, implementing, and refining best practices. Enhance the consistency, timeliness, and quality of deliverables by establishing scalable systems that support the evolving needs of the studio and 23 E. (the showroom/retail location, if that's what 23 E. refers to).


Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operational support, including administrative oversight and resource management with a service mindset - the designers and trades are “your clients.”
  • Ensure office and field teams have what they need—when they need it—through thoughtful planning and coordination.
  • Serve as a central hub for internal, design-related workflows, ensuring communication and task management tools are used effectively and consistently.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, identify inefficiencies, and implement solutions that keep projects running smoothly.
  • Support interdepartmental coordination between the design team, soft goods seamstresses, and other departments to maintain clarity and momentum.
  • Ensure JED HQ is always ready for clients and aligned with our brand
  • Facility management of JED HQ (annual maintenance, daily maintenance, snacks/beverages and routine cleaning scheduled.)
  • Manage JED cell phone communication
  • Anticipate and proactively delegate daily needs to a colleague(s) when you will be out of the office
  • Oversee procurement of furniture, fixtures, finishes, materials, and tools for all design projects and internal teams.
  • Place orders in a timely manner per request from team or needs of the business
  • Coordinate logistics from order placement (and labeling) to on-site delivery—monitoring timelines, managing vendor/JED team communication, ensuring install readiness.
  • Track shipments, deliveries, and returns with precision within 48 hours; resolve damage claims, backorders, and incorrect shipments proactively.
  • Schedule and communicate with trade workers and vendors to ensure aligned timelines for installation and service delivery.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers, vendors, trades, etc. to help achieve accuracy, best pricing, easy returns, etc.
  • Manage Shopify ecommerce input - entering in all new inventory and client pieces as they enter JED ownership (including price, photo and measurements)
  • Manage special projects with cross-functional teams to help execute and elevate every JED experience
  • Develop, refine, maintain comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across key operational areas of the business ensuring a unified experience
  • Research, test, & roll out new tools/systems to enhance workflow, communication, & productivity
  • Track key operational metrics to identify performance gaps & opportunities for improvement
  • Build & maintain strong relationships with vendors, trades, and suppliers to streamline procurement, improve accuracy, and optimize costs.


Required skills and qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of project / operations management experience
