The position


As a Design Engineer at agap2, you take on the challenge within an international environment with a local focus. Key Responsibilities


  • You will act as a discipline expert supporting multiple core activities within the Group Technical Standard and Assurance organization.
  • You are responsible for maintaining SBM’s technical excellence by supporting projects at every phase — from feasibility through decommissioning — while helping define and enforce technical standards. You contribute to layout and weight control strategies, attend key project reviews, and support innovation and standard product development across SBM's global fleet.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Group Technical Standards and Guidelines for the Plant Layout discipline.
  • Ensure technical compliance and integrity by participating in major project design reviews, ergonomics reviews, weight reviews, HAZIDs, and audits.
  • Support tender activities by preparing conceptual plot plans, weight assessments, and framing technical proposals.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams during the Concept/Framing phases to deliver optimized layouts and preliminary weight estimations.
  • Post-handover, provide data analytics related to layout and weight to support project execution.
  • Define and monitor KPIs for plant layout, weight control, and bulk quantities across projects.
  • Collect, analyze, and implement lessons learned and feedback from the operational fleet for continuous improvement.
  • Provide expert support on vendor and subcontractor qualification processes related to layout expertise.


What you bring to the position


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in plant layout, piping design, material handling, and human factor ergonomics for Oil & Gas topside facilities.
  • Experience with FLNG, Semi-Submersible, and renewable projects is a plus.
  • Proven track record in EPCIO project execution and full unit life cycle understanding.
  • Mooring, Marine, or Naval design knowledge is an advantage.
  • AVEVA PDMS/E3D design software
  • NAVISWORKS for design review and management
