Position Overview

The Design Consultant supports learning development activities, including design and development of customized graphics and animations for training, change management, and communications solutions for Mosaic’s internal and external clients. The Design Consultant works closely with and takes directions from the Senior Consultant, Design Services, supporting efforts on a variety of projects.

This role involves multiple stakeholders on design and technical matters as a trusted advisor and requires close coordination with multiple staff members to ensure project success.

Roles and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Design Consultant role are as follows:

  • Setting up the project templates including:
    • Learning the client branding, logos, color scheme, etc.
    • Creating templates and applying those learnings.
    • Creating new iterations of the templates based on ID findings and asks.
    • Creating style guides based on client branding, logos, and color schemes.
  • Onboarding Production Services (PS):
    • Teaching the PS team the client styles, logos, etc.
    • Teaching the PS team the ticket process.
    • Meeting with PS for complex tickets to explain what needs to be done.
    • Ongoing Graphic Requests.
    • Review ticket requests to provide guidance for PS.
    • Review completed PS work to provide feedback.
    • Review completed PS work to ensure consistency.
    • Comple graphic requests when needed.
  • Work with project teams to create graphic art and digital media solutions that are incorporated into Mosaic’s blended-learning solutions, including:
    • Training material for instructor-led training (ILT)
    • Web-based training (WBT)
    • Storyboards
    • Assessments
  • Support design and development of user interface elements and graphics.
  • Support development of animations, interactive elements, demos, and tutorials.
  • Support the visual training, branding, navigational, and stylistic needs in a variety of web applications.
  • Create visual objects by conceptualizing storyboards or creating those conceptualized by project teams.
  • Produce draft, revised, and final artwork while incorporating edits, changes, and feedback.
  • Create and prepare artwork for a variety of media including, but not limited to, web and print formats (such as manuals, guides, job aids, etc.) and incorporate client branding palettes or create original palettes.
  • Create and maintains Mosaic internal marketing and branding artwork, including brochures (print and electronic), and layout on company demo site.
  • Collaborate and adapts when coordinating with project teams, including project managers, instructional designers, content developers, programmers, animators, and clients.
  • Work both independently and in a team environment while meeting project deadlines.
  • Attain billable hours requirements consistently.

Skills And Experience

  • Proven experience as a graphic designer or creative consultant.
  • Superior knowledge of color use for print and web-based design.
  • Strong rendering, layout, and composition skills.
  • Experience and creativity with business-oriented graphics.
  • Knowledge of HTML or XML.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to take ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • High flexibility, including the ability to complete and return work with little advanced notice; ability to work outside traditional business hours.
  • Ability to understand and work within the limitations of project work in terms of budget, time, and aggressive timelines.
  • Ability to support Mosaic’s strong client success focus.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and set priorities.

The compensation range considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making hiring and compensation decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to candidate skill set, consulting experience, training and education, competencies, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Mosaic strives to set salaries at, or near the 50th percentile (midpoint) of the range and it is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the range for the position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $90,000.00 to $100,000.00. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus program of up to 5% of annual compensation. The bonus program is dependent on a variety of factors including organizational and individual performance.
