Job Title: Design Architect

Job Description

This position involves collaborating within a dynamic team that includes account managers, estimators, project managers, project coordinators, production personnel, customers, outside suppliers, and other design technologists. The Design Architect is responsible for executing project tasks such as 3D modeling, 2D drawing generation, framing system coordination, converting design data to fabrication data, and providing installation instructions under the guidance of a Senior Design Technologist. Candidates should possess a strong technical and modeling skills, with a solid understanding of the constructability of materials and drawings. Ideal candidates are experienced in client interaction, enthusiastic about diverse projects, and bilingual, with proficiency in Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand design intent and develop constructible solutions.
• Export design data for fabrication purposes.
• Provide clear installation instructions and coordinate on-site installation.
• Properly schedule project deliverables.
• Learn from past projects to improve processes.
• Participate actively in a collaborative process.
  
  

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in 2D and 3D modeling software such as Rhino, Grasshopper, and Revit.
• Strong drafting and construction skills.
• Experience in project management and constructability.
• Familiarity with programming languages like C-Sharp and JavaScript.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual proficiency, particularly in Spanish.
  
  

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with parametric modeling and geometry.
• Ability to create shop drawings for fabrication.
• Comfortable using MS Office, Excel, and PDF editing software such as Bluebeam and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  
  

Work Environment

The work environment is casual and collaborative, involving coordination with a team of 6-8 designers at varying experience levels. You will also communicate design requirements with the shop for production. Initially, you will shadow a Senior Design Technologist and work on smaller projects to gain familiarity with company processes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
