An exciting opportunity to join the Software Services team at the University of Edinburgh. This is a Grade UE07, full-time (35 hours per week), open-ended (permanent) position based in central Edinburgh. The role is hybrid, you will report to the Software Asset Manager and will be on campus at least one day per week.

What The Job Involves
- Distributing software to staff and students of the University and ensuring compliance with software licensing agreements.
- Acting as a second line of support for issues relating to software licensing and distribution, making sure issues are resolved quickly.
- Liaising with software suppliers and internal customers in University Schools and Colleges. Providing information and support on purchasing, renewing and maintaining licenses.
- Assisting with finance and budgeting tasks such as software procurement and cost recovery.
- Supporting the continual improvement of software-related processes.

A Bit About You
- Relevant experience in software licensing, purchasing and management in a large organisation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Evidence of excellent attention to detail with good time management and organisational skills.
- Evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal relationship development.

About The Team
The Infrastructure Division provides the core platforms and technologies on which the University's research, learning, teaching and digital administration depend. This includes management of the University's data and telephone networks and support of managed desktop computing and open-access computer suites. Two resilient data-centres host large-scale compute and data services for research, and server and storage infrastructure for providing enterprise services. The division also provides infrastructure technologies such as authentication and authorisation used by University I.T. services.
