The Department Administrative Assistant has responsibilities involving Patient Access, Scheduling, Registration and patient discharge (including all required signatures and follow up).

  • Insurance verification and authorization approval for POPS services.
  • Entering data into OPIE, obtaining detailed written orders (including physician signature), audit of work in progress (WIP) through date of delivery.
  • Provides estimates of fees to families, including discussing their financial obligation (when appropriate) including financial counseling and means testing when indicated.
  • Audit of EMR prior to submission for billing.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education

High School diploma/GED required

Skills And Experience

1 year administrative experience in office setting

Skilled with computers and data entry. (Microsoft Office, Excel and Word). Proficient in EMR system
