Summary

Position Summary: We are seeking a full-time Dental Hygiene Faculty member to coordinate the Titans for Teeth Mobile Programs (TFTMP). This role combines clinical teaching with program coordination, supporting dental and dental hygiene students in delivering preventive care on the mobile dental unit. The coordinator will also manage day-to-day operations and maintain relationships with school and community partners.


Rank: Clinical Instructor or Assistant Professor (commensurate with education and experience)


Salary: Commensurate with rank and experience


Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching

  • Provide clinical supervision for dental and dental hygiene students delivering preventive services in the mobile dental programs.

2. Mobile Program Coordination

  • Manage daily operations of the mobile clinic and oversee efficient patient flow.
  • Mentor and provide feedback to staff to promote continuous improvement and productivity.
  • Identify and recruit partner sites and execute Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs).
  • Develop term-wise and annual site schedules for mobile programs.
  • Distribute and collect parent consent forms; attend community and school events as needed.
  • Conduct intake assessments at scheduled location stops.
  • Collaborate with program faculty and staff to coordinate the mobile clinic schedule.
  • Assist with patient registration and appointment scheduling in Axium.
  • Assist the Director in creating student rotation schedules and managing the HETO off-site system.
  • Maintain accurate records of all services provided on the mobile dental unit.
  • Oversee proper maintenance and cleaning of all mobile dental equipment.
  • Coordinate van and equipment maintenance with the driver/dental assistant, and Benco maintenance team.
  • Monitor clinic supply inventory and manage reordering of supplies.
  • Prepare reports for schools, generate parent communication, and manage referral processes. Track and report on grant fund usage for uninsured care, including financial and service-related data.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with site partners; address concerns and resolve issues.
  • Submit work orders for transportation and setup of mobile clinic equipment.
  • Facilitate and lead monthly TFTMP meetings.

3.  Additional Duties

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director.


Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene.
  • Active or eligible dental hygiene license in Michigan.
  • Clinical experience as a dental hygienist.
  • Current CPR certification (Basic Life Support).
  • Familiarity with dental insurance systems and electronic scheduling.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, instruments, and materials.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Dental Hygiene, Health Services Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience working in or managing school-based program.
