This role is responsible for developing and managing the demand planning process to ensure accurate forecasting, efficient inventory management, and alignment between supply and demand. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting production planning, sales, and inventory strategies to drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions
Develop and maintain accurate short- and long-term demand forecasts using historical sales data, market trends, and collaboration with sales, marketing, and finance teams.
Lead the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, aligning demand forecasts with supply capabilities and business goals.
Monitor forecast accuracy and key performance indicators (KPIs); implement continuous improvements to enhance forecasting reliability.
Collaborate with inventory management and production planning teams to balance supply and demand while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory
Analyze demand trends and seasonal patterns to support production schedules and inventory strategies.
Manage product lifecycle planning, including new product introductions, phase-outs, and promotions.
Communicate forecast insights and risks to internal stakeholders, ensuring cross-functional alignment.
Utilize ERP and demand planning systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or other) to manage forecasting data and reporting.
Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to any assigned demand planning or forecasting analysts.
Support company initiatives related to cost reduction, lead-time improvement, and service level enhancement.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Technology (IT), Business, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, or related field AND 5+ years supply chain, inventory management or sales operations experience, preferably in planning (demand/supply/forecasting), cloud industry experience, infrastructure, data science, and/or channel management experience OR equivalent experience
5+ years of progressive experience in demand planning, supply chain, or related functions in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge & Skills
Deep understanding of demand planning, forecasting techniques, and statistical modeling.
Strong business acumen and ability to interpret data in a commercial context.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Dynamic preferred)
Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, or other analytics software).
AI planning and forecasting tools
Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, inventory management, and supply chain best practices.
