Primary Purpose:
Assist the school principal in the overall administration of the campus instructional program and school operations. Ensure sound implementation of curriculum and staff development to improve student achievement. Responsible for overseeing the academic program, under the direction of the campus principal, ensure sound implementation of curriculum and staff development to improve student achievement.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master's degree in educational administration
Valid Texas principal or other appropriate certificate
Certified Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) appraiser
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to demonstrate understanding of school operations
Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
Ability to manage budget and personnel
Ability to implement policy and procedures
Working knowledge of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) Resource System
Ability to interpret data and address the needs of the school and community
Excellent organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
5 years of classroom teacher experience
3 years of instructional leadership experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Management
* Assist the school principal with the overall administration of the instructional program at the campus level and coordinate assigned student activities and services.
* Provide leadership in the identification, evaluation, and selection of instructional programs, resources, and equipment for increased student achievement.
* Facilitate improved student performance through the professional growth of teachers and staff as measured by coursework and assessment data.
* Provide quality instructional support and feedback on the instructional effectiveness of the campus.
* Work with the principal to develop and implement the master schedule.
* Assist in designing and providing professional development based on data analysis and campus needs.
* Meet regularly with academic department heads, instructional coaches, and assistant principals to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of curriculum.
* Manage Response to Intervention (RTI) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) programs, including assisting with the identification of at-risk students and coordinating early intervention strategies.
* Identify students in need of accelerated instruction (HB 1416) through data analysis and provide targeted academic support to close learning gaps and promote grade-level proficiency
* Collaborate with the Teaching and Learning Department to support curriculum development, instructional improvement, and professional learning initiatives.
* Lead initiatives to improve College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) outcomes by coordinating programs, tracking student progress, and supporting postsecondary planning efforts
School Improvement
* Plan and coordinate tutorials, interventions, additional support and resources, and other instructional programs for students in need of assistance.
* Facilitate and assist with the development of an effective campus improvement plan based on student needs.
* Ensure that student progress is evaluated on a regular, systematic basis and that the findings are used to make instructional programs and services more effective.
School and Community Relations
* Conduct conferences with parents, students, and teachers.
* Increase awareness of the school's guidelines and expectations for student learning and achievement among students, staff, and parents.
* Foster collegiality and team building among staff members. Encourage their involvement in the decision-making process.
Other
* Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
* Work collaboratively as a key member of the leadership team and help the Principal develop leadership capacity.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise, evaluate, and recommend the hiring and firing of assigned staff assigned including
teachers, paraprofessionals, and custodians. Supervise campus operations in the Principal's absence.

* To meet the executive exemption test, the primary duty must be management and the employee must supervise at least two full-time employees.
