šŸ”§ What You'll Do:

  • Design, build, and manage high-performance DB2 databases in z/OS environments.
  • Optimize performance at the system level—tuning, troubleshooting, and tweaking until it hums.
  • Define standards for storage, access, security, and maintenance across all database systems.
  • Support and automate backups, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to evaluate tools, troubleshoot issues, and roll out improvements.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members—your expertise will help others grow.
  • Stay ahead of trends—evaluate new tech and continuously improve our database landscape.
  • Rotate in on 24/7 on-call support (shared schedule).


āœ… What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in DB2 database administration, especially on z/OS.
  • Strong SQL programming and system design chops.
  • Comfortable working with Oracle, PostgreSQL, CloudSQL, and related tools.
  • Solid grasp of Linux, Windows Server, networking, storage, and security.
  • Experience with performance tuning, high availability, and disaster recovery setups.
  • Proven ability to work independently and be a strong team player.
  • Excellent communication skills—you can explain complex issues clearly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
