About Us: The DataScope suite of applications is a cornerstone of our Pricing and Reference Service business, widely respected in the finance industry. Our platform empowers over 4,000 external clients to download market data in bulk or customized reports, enabling them to analyze funds and the market positions of global industry players.

Your Role: A Software Engineer (.NET) will be at the heart of our data solutions, catering to a diverse range of data needs across asset classes, latency, and delivery mechanisms, including real-time data, news, reference, and legal entity data.

What You'll Do

  • Innovate and Collaborate: Work with colleagues and customers to develop new software applications and enhance existing ones. You'll process user needs, design prototypes, implement and test source code, and troubleshoot software applications.
  • Build and Improve: Your primary duties will involve writing code, modifying software to fix errors, adapting it to new hardware, improving performance, and upgrading interfaces.
  • Test and Validate: Engage in system testing and validation procedures, and collaborate with customers or departments on technical issues, including software system design and maintenance.

What We're Looking For

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in .NET Framework 4.5/4.8, C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, JavaScript, jQuery/UI, REST and SOAP APIs, Sybase or Microsoft SQL Server, web development (HTTP/HTTPS, AJAX, XML, JSON), and automated unit testing with nUnit.
  • Financial Acumen: Experience with financial market data and/or financial market products.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities and a desire for solving complex problems.
  • People Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Cloud Experience: Familiarity with cloud development.

Experience

Previous experience with LSEG's DataScope suite of applications is highly preferred. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience as a .NET/C# developer, with Microsoft .NET certification being a plus. Experience in enterprise-scale application development using Microsoft .NET is crucial, along with practical experience in customer-facing web development, SOAP/REST API services, JSON and XML, SQL, and version control systems like Mercurial or Git.

  • Feature Implementation: Develop and support solutions based on business requirements from product managers.
  • Technical Improvement: Enhance technical solutions to ensure stability and maintainability.
  • Client Support: Assist 2nd and 3rd line support teams in analyzing and resolving client issues.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the team on application design and development.
  • Knowledge Development: Expand your understanding of LSEG technologies and build a network within the company.
  • Pattern Adaptation: Utilize existing patterns to develop robust solutions and share coding knowledge.
  • Optimization: Perform maintenance, updates, and upgrades to optimize software.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of software development processes.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with .NET development standards and advancements.
  • Relationship Building: Foster trusting relationships at all levels, promote collaboration, and communicate complex information clearly.
