Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Power BI + SQL Developer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Power BI development, data modeling, and SQL programming.

As a Senior Power BI + SQL Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced Power BI solutions to drive data visualization and analysis.

This role requires exceptional technical skills, a strong understanding of data analysis concepts, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable insights and robust data solutions.

Responsibilities

Power BI Development and Maintenance :

• Design, develop, and maintain complex Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations using best practices and advanced techniques.
• Utilize Power Query and DAX to create sophisticated data transformations and calculations.
• Implement advanced data modeling techniques to optimize performance and scalability.
• Ensure data security and access controls are properly implemented within Power BI solutions.
  
  

Business Requirements And Data Strategy

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze complex business requirements, translating them into effective data models and interactive dashboards.
• Develop and implement comprehensive Data Strategy plans and Data Architecture plans for short-term and long-term strategies, aligning with client goals.
• Create data models from scratch based on current requirements, designing for short-term, medium-term, and long-term scalability and adaptability.
• Evaluate and identify optimal data platforms/cloud platforms (e.g, Azure, AWS, GCP) to meet client needs.
  
  

SQL Development And ETL Processes

• Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
• Perform data analysis and quality assurance to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of datasets used in Power BI solutions.
• Implement data validation and cleansing procedures.
  
  

Performance Optimization And Troubleshooting

• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in Power BI reports and SQL queries.
• Optimize data models and improve overall system efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Power BI and SQL.
  
  

Documentation And Knowledge Sharing

• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including data models, system architecture, report specifications, and data dictionaries.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
  
  

Continuous Learning And Improvement

• Stay up-to-date with the latest Power BI features, SQL developments, and industry best practices.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve data analysis and reporting capabilities.
  
  

Education

Qualifications and Skills :

Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience

• 5 to 8 years of experience as a Power BI Developer, with a strong focus on data visualization and analysis.
  
  

Technical Skills

• Expert proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, data modeling, and report/dashboard development.
• Advanced expertise in SQL programming, including complex query design, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, data warehousing concepts, and ETL processes.
• Extensive experience with data modeling techniques and best practices (e.g, star schema, snowflake schema).
• Experience with Cloud based Data solutions.
