In this role, you will be a key technical expert driving database performance, security, and efficiency. From design and implementation to optimization and maintenance, you will support full lifecycle database management across enterprise IT systems. Primary Responsibilities * Provide technical expertise in database design, development, implementation, information storage, and retrieval. * Develop relational and/or object-oriented databases, database parser software, and database loading software. * Support system improvements, optimization, and maintenance efforts. * Develop database structures that align with system architecture while balancing data volume, user load, distribution, response times, security, and domain controls. * Translate project requirements into database schemas, including the creation of ad hoc queries, scripts, macros, and complex systems using Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) and cloud storage methodologies. * Provide recommendations for system design and data organization throughout project lifecycle. * Conduct analysis and evaluation to enhance database performance, scalability, and security. Qualifications * Active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph is required * 10+ years of experience as a Database Engineer (DBE) on projects of similar scope, type, and complexity. * Bachelors degree in a technical field OR five (5) additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. * DoD 8570 Compliance Security+ CE * Experience in database development, parser software, and database loading software. * Knowledge of cloud storage methodologies and data manipulation techniques. Specialized Experience * Support database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow, and analysis. * Support analysis and evaluation of system improvements, optimization, and maintenance. * Assist in developing short-term and long-term database administration and design requirements. * Assist in developing database parser and loading software. * Translate requirements into usable database schemas, including ad hoc queries, scripts, and macros. * Develop database structures that integrate into larger system architectures. * Lead efforts to create complex database systems using queries, tables, ODBC, and cloud-based storage solutions. * Provide direct support for database structure development, balancing security, scalability, and user accessibility.
