About the Role: Liminal is seeking a skilled Database Architect/Administrator with extensive experience in MySQL to design, maintain, and optimize our databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring data availability, integrity, and security. You will play a pivotal role in scaling our data infrastructure and ensuring the efficiency of the database systems.

Responsibilities

Design & Architecture:

• Architect and implement high-performance, scalable MySQL database solutions.
• Collaborate with development teams to design database schemas and optimize queries.
  
  

Database Maintenance

• Manage day-to-day database operations including configuration, backups, restores, and performance tuning.
• Conduct regular performance testing, troubleshooting, and fine-tuning for database efficiency.
  
  

Optimization & Performance Tuning

• Analyze and optimize database performance, including tuning queries, indexes, and configurations.
• Monitor system health and database performance, identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks.
  
  

Data Security

• Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  
  

Troubleshooting & Support

• Respond to database-related incidents and provide troubleshooting support to minimize downtime.
• Perform root cause analysis for critical database issues and suggest solutions to prevent future occurrences.
  
  

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of database architecture, procedures, and best practices.
• Provide regular reports on database performance and system capacity to management.
  
  

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 6+ years of hands-on experience working with MySQL databases, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning. Must have worked on MySQL in the AWS environment.
• Hands on experience in Redis
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts and SQL.
• Experience with database design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with backup, restore, and disaster recovery methodologies.
