Summary

The Database and Parish Service Manager leads the stabilization and optimization of the diocesan required parishioner engagement system, namely, ParishStaq and Pushpay, and related technologies across the diocese. The position leads the diocese in the standardization of the parishioner engagement systems with the intent of creating encounters with groups of people facilitated by technology and effectively managing the operations of parishes through the parish management application. All of these efforts are in support of the evangelizing mission of Matthew 28 (18-20). This position is the point person for both parish administrative staff and the vendor.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Serve as the liaison between parish engagement system vendor and parish locations, including Curia staff.

·        Establish relationships with essential staff members at each parish location and Curia to support the stabilization and optimization activities at that location.

·        Work with parishes on questions as they continue to migrate data and begin using different modules of the system.

·        Work with Curia offices to expand the use of parish engagement system for support of diocesan initiatives.

o  Under the guidance of the Director, develop support systems for diocesan retreat initiatives.

·        Ensure data standardization and integrity across the diocese.

·        Offer training on functions within the software that may be underutilized.

·        Advocate for users when vendors are not meeting specific needs.

2.  Maintain and optimize parish engagement system (PES).

·     Organize and lead activities related to the support of ParishStaq, PushPay and related technologies with the intent of meeting the intended goals of a standardized PES. 

·     Collaborate with office staff regarding the establishment of parish build applications.

·     Establish utilization goals. Measure and report progress against those goals, making priority adjustments as needed.

·     Develop and perform transition assessments, analyze results, and provide recommendations for promotion and programming in support of optimization goals.

·     Identify, track, and prioritize problem tickets and enhancement requests.

·     Work with vendors in developing requirements and specifications for enhancement requests.

·     Ensure industry standard security practices are followed in protecting parishioner data.

3.   Steering Committee:

·     Under the guidance of the Director, assist with a PES Steering Committee to routinely evaluate progress, identify and prioritize issues, enhancements and training needs and share best practices.

4.   Implement Communication Plan:

·        Ensure needed communications for the program occur.

5.   Ongoing Training:

·        Lead system enhancement design and testing

·        Develop a group of super users that can share best practices and be called upon to support parishes that are struggling or are in need of additional training.

·        Ensure training priorities are met through super users or vendor training

·        Assist parishes to adopt best practices in use of the parishioner engagement tools.

·        Under the guidance of the director, perform and evaluate satisfaction surveys.

6.   Manage the vendor contract and associated billing of parishes.

7.   Other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

·  Bachelor’s degree in related field.

·  Program management training and/or experience.

·  Hybrid employment will be considered.


REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND CHARACTERISTICS:

·  Practicing Catholic in full communion with the teachings of the Church.

·  Experience in parish operations and pastoral ministries.

·  Experience using/implementing ParishStaq or comparable PES or experience with database management, database analysis and reporting tools.

·  Excellent communications skills.

·  Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality.

·  Ability to work with various personalities and within various contexts in a consistently professional manner.

·  Excellent organizational skills, with ability to multi-task, manage time, and maintain attention to detail.

·  Relationship and service driven, eager to connect and assist others.

·  Self-starter, able to consider issues and come to reasonable solutions independently.

·  Inquisitive and eager to understand large organizations and/or complex working environments.

·  Bilingual competencies and/or experience working across multiple cultures are a plus.

·  Exposure or familiarity with using government census data, demographical data, and/or other statistical research.

·  Demonstrated interest in data and technology, is a quick study and highly analytical.

·  Valid driver’s license.
