Role: Database Administrator (DBA) – MongoDB & AWS RDS

Location: Poland remote

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in MongoDB and AWS RDS while familiarity with Oracle is a plus. You will be responsible for ensuring database security, performance tuning, and high availability in a cloud-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and optimize MongoDB databases for performance and scalability
• Manage AWS RDS instances, ensuring reliability, backups, and disaster recovery
• Implement monitoring, performance tuning, and database optimization strategies
• Develop and maintain backup & recovery plans to ensure data integrity
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize database queries and indexing strategies
• Ensure database security, compliance, and best practices are followed.
• Knowledge of Oracle databases for migration, support, and integration purposes
• Automate database tasks using scripts and tools (Python, Bash, etc.)

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA)
• Strong expertise in MongoDB Atlas, including replication, sharding, and backup strategies
• Hands-on experience with AWS RDS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server)
• Knowledge of database performance tuning and query optimization
• Experience with database security, backup, and disaster recovery strategies
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Nice to Have (Bonus):

• Experience with Oracle Database and Google CloudSQL administration
• Experience with newer Postgres competitors like Yugabyte and CockroachDB
• Familiarity with NoSQL and SQL database integration
• Scripting experience (Python, Bash, or similar)
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and Terraform for database automation
