Description: Database Administrator to Install, configure and administration of large scale databases and mission critical OLTP systems. Administer, test and implement computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems. Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases. Audit user activities such as insert, update or delete data and maintain application integration to share the data between applications from the database. Manage Database structure, storage allocation, Table/Index segments, Undo segments, Constraints and Database Access for databases like Oracle, MS SQL Server, IBM DB2, Teradata, HP Vertica, Hadoop. Perform periodic backups of data and develop and test data recovery plans. Develop capacity plans for data growth and estimate the required hardware for expansion of databases. Develop application code for accessing enterprise data directly. Monitor and balance data load by observing refresh status of standby databases, resolving the lock contentions on production databases. Write stored procedures, functions and triggers to interface application with database system. Develop Shell scripts for day-to-day database administration tasks that include various jobs for alert logs and performance, Backups, Restores and Recoverability. Migrate database from lower versions to most current versions to adopt new features and functionalities.
