Position Description
As a DBA at PAR Technologies, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, optimizing, and scaling our MySQL database infrastructure.
Position Location: Gurugram, Jaipur
Reports To: Manager, DBA
What We’re Looking For
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3-5+ years of experience as a MySQL Database Administrator in a 24/7 production environment.
- Strong proficiency in managing MySQL databases on AWS RDS (or in Azure or GCP).
- Experience with parameter group settings and performance tuning in MySQL. Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
- Must to have experience in Mongodb/docdb or and no sql db
- Experience with monitoring tools like New Relic, Performance Insights, and DataDog
- Strong knowledge of database security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Experience with database backup and recovery strategies.
- Familiarity with high availability and replication configurations.
- Scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Python) for automation tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- AWS certification(s) related to database administration (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty) is a plus.
Unleash Your Potential
- As an Intermediate MySQL DBA at PAR Technologies, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, optimizing, and scaling our MySQL database infrastructure.
- You will work closely within the DBA team, Engineering, and DevOps teams to ensure the availability, performance, and reliability of our MySQL database systems.
What You Will Be Doing And Owning
- MySQL Database Management: Administer, monitor, and maintain MySQL databases (Ideally in AWS RDS but strong experience in Azure or GCP will also be considered).
- Performance Tuning: Optimize database performance by analyzing query execution plans, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing necessary changes.
- Scaling and Capacity Planning: Work on scaling our database infrastructure to accommodate growing data needs. Perform capacity planning to ensure future requirements are met.
- Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
- Security: Enforce database security best practices, manage user access, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Parameter Group Settings: Configure and fine-tune MySQL parameter group settings to optimize database performance and reliability.
- High Availability: Set up and maintain high availability solutions, including replication and failover mechanisms.
- Database Monitoring: Implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve database issues.
- Automation: Create and maintain automation scripts and tools for database provisioning, maintenance, and monitoring.
- Documentation: Keep comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development, data analysis, and reporting needs.
