Collecting, processing and storing data from all services in our platform is the most important requirement for this level of personalization. Creating concepts and solutions for this is in the focus of the data engineers working at Emarsys. Operational Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot database systems.
• Implementing best practices for data storage, indexing, and retrieval to enhance database performance.
• Proactively manage incidents and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime.
• Develop and enforce security protocols and data recovery measures.
• Automate routine tasks to enhance operational efficiency.
  
  

Architectural Responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient and scalable database architectures, primarily focused on PostgreSQL, MySQL and BigQuery.
• Collaborate with development and engineering teams to integrate databases seamlessly into their applications.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies, especially Google BigQuery, and integrate them into our existing infrastructure.
• Participating in the migration of on-premise infrastructure to the cloud.
• Scaling the operations of development teams by establishing best practices, providing tooling, sharing knowledge, etc
• Be the champion of established best practices and architectural guidelines
• Assist teams both in the design and the tuning phase
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a Database Administrator with expertise in SQL optimization.
• Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL and MySQL database management and optimization.
• Familiarity with GCP cloud technologies, especially Google BigQuery, and the ability to integrate these into existing systems.
• Excellent understanding of database architecture and design principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Possess an active conversational English language knowledge.
• Open to learning new languages, techniques and tools.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiar with streaming/batch data processing, TDD, CI/CD, ETL/ELT.
• Have seen a cloud infra before, because, most likely you will also have to deal with some “real databases” as well.
