Brief Overview:
The DBA will collaborate with the engineering team to create standardized delivery of data management solutions that are aligned with enterprise strategy and architecture. You will define database maintenance standards to ensure these standards are implemented and followed consistently. You will be responsible for forecasting system requirements and provide a course of action to meet the growing workload demands.
Core Responsibilities:
Perform Database Administration for PostgreSQL and other database tools such as Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, and MongoDB
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues
Tuning and optimization using monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve failed tasks or database issues
Proactive performance and resource monitoring
Ensure backup, high availability and disaster recovery
Configure and monitor replication clusters
Design, install, monitor, maintain, and performance-tune production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability
Responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software
Perform regular database patching and upgrades • Rotational on-call database support
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience
5+ years of hands-on administration of PostgreSQL
Experience with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for PostgreSQL
Strong knowledge of performance tuning/optimization
Experience managing Aurora PostreSQL in AWS
Experience managing security within the AWS RDS environment
Expert-level knowledge of backups, restores, recoveries
Experience with Elasticsearch databases
Experience with AWS DynamoDB databases
Experience with MongoDB databases
