This role will directly support the Intelligent Outreach program to build AI capabilities that improve sales and distribution, client targeting, and opportunity assessments as part of touchpoint and distribution strategy. Leads and implements deep dive diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to support data-driven business decision making. Supports and performs the development and programming of machine learning integrated software algorithms to structure, analyze, and leverage data in a production environment. Apply LLMs and other AI models in complex systems or agentic architectures to automate workflows and identify client insights, optimizing performance, cost, and accuracy. Mentors and develops junior data scientists and analysts. Responsibilities: * Develops complex queries and performs extensive programming to access, transform, and prepare data for statistical modeling. * Leads and implements deep dive diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to support data-driven business decision making. Mentors and develops junior data scientists and analysts. * Identifies and diagnoses data inconsistencies and errors, details data assumptions, and forages to fill data gaps. * Engages with internal collaborators to understand and probe business processes in order to develop hypotheses. Brings structure to requests and translates requirements into an analytic approach. * Guides test design, research design, and model validation. Provides statistical consultation services. Serves as the analytics expert on cross functional teams for large central initiatives and supplies to the growth of the Vanguard analytic community. * Prepares and delivers insight presentations and action recommendations. Communicates complex analytical findings and implications to business leaders. * Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * Minimum of five years related work experience in analytical roles preferred * Experience in Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or related analytical field of study or combination of training and experience. * AI/ML, Generative AI, NLP and Modeling, data wrangling * Experience applying statistical and machine learning methods required. * Analytical and statistical thinking -- high level mathematics skills especially around statistics.
