Description

Make a real-world impact optimizing logistics for the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM)! SAIC is seeking a skilled Cloud Data Scientist at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. You'll be instrumental in developing cutting-edge analytics solutions leveraging a newly migrated cloud-based logistics data platform.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, and implement data science models and algorithms using Python, R, and SQL within the Databricks environment.
• Analyze large, complex datasets (including transformed EDI data) to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
• Build predictive models to forecast logistics demands, optimize supply chains, and improve operational efficiency.
• Develop and visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track progress and measure the impact of initiatives.
• Collaborate with data engineers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.
• Stay current on the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and cloud technologies.
  
  

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience developing and deploying data science models in a cloud environment (AWS preferred).
• Strong proficiency in Python or R, with experience in relevant data science libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PySpark).
• Expertise in SQL and data manipulation techniques.
• Experience working with Databricks and Delta Tables is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization techniques.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with logistics or supply chain data.
• Familiarity with EDI data structures and standards.
• Active Secret clearance.
  
  

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
