Summary

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Scientist in Hoffman Estates, IL. Responsibilities: * Data Scientist will design and implement database solutions to support financial reporting, analysis, and modeling * Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, indexes, and views to optimize data storage and retrieval * Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze financial data from various sources * Collaborate with corporate finance teams to understand data requirements and provide technical expertise in database design and optimization * Lead and mentor a team of business analysts, providing guidance on best practices in data analysis, reporting, and database development * Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports to visualize financial data and key performance indicators * As a Data Scientist, you will partner with IT teams in system implementation and integration efforts to ensure seamless data flow and compatibility with existing systems * Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security through regular monitoring, maintenance, and backups * Troubleshoot database issues and performance bottlenecks and implement solutions to optimize database performance * Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in database management, SQL programming, and dashboard design* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or related field; Master's degree preferred * Proven experience (5+ years) working as a Data Scientist, Database Administrator, Database Developer, or similar role, preferably supporting a corporate finance team, providing direct reporting to executive leadership and C-Suite * Experience with Snowflake data platform, including data modeling, querying, and administration * Experience in designing and optimizing database schemas for financial applications * Experience with financial reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus * Strong understanding of relational database concepts, data modeling, and database normalization * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail * Proficiency in SQL programming and database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) * Strong organizational and people management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines * Coordinated project timelines and resource allocation, ensuring smooth collaboration between teams in a fast-paced environment * Leadership & People Management: Team Coordination, Mentorship, Cross-functional Collaboration * Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks * Familiarity with SaaS/Subscription Metrics and financial measures, with a focus on recurring revenue: Churn Prevention, Customer Funnel, Customer Lifetime Value, ARR * Forecasting, FP&A, and Customer KPI Projections * Adept at collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets, and performing data management tasks * Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders * Demonstrate ability in performing statistical analyses and creating predictive data models to deliver insights and implement action-oriented solutions
