DSI is searching for a Data Scientist (Sr. Professional Application Designer - Analytics) who supports required analytics, report design, data integration and transformation processes crucial to the function of the Data Analytics services for Ohio Medicaid. Work with the client to develop critical reports, research analysis and data specifications. Builds mapping documents, takes actions on feedback from stakeholders, team leaders, clients, and vendors. Determines best practices and provides suggestions on how to improve the current operational process and practices.
Responsibilities
Work closely with analysts and engineers to deploy solutions in batch and real-time while systematically tracking model performance.
Build complex data sets from multiple data sources residing in a Native AWS Databricks implementation using SQL, Python, PySpark, and JHTML.
Present findings to both technical and non-technical client audiences.
Deliver data science projects and innovative technical solutions improving healthcare outcomes.
Support the design, development, testing of Machine Learning (ML) /Statistical models to not only learn from our vast amounts of data but to build new product features.
Requirements
Expertise with Medicare, medical, dental, institutional and pharmacy/drug claim core data and its relationship with Provider, Member and Eligibility classifications.
Proven ability to thrive within an Agile development framework from a remote workspace.
Demonstrated experience in leading complex data science solutions/projects from requirements through design, development, testing and production.
Experience using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, and AI Assistant to drive ongoing insights and quality improvement.
Firsthand healthcare industry experience with data & languages such as e.g., SQL, Python, R, SAS using Databricks solutions within the cloud (AWS or Azure).
Additional Skills/Experience
Computer Science Degree: Statistics, Informatics, or another quantitative field.
Experience leading meetings which include Clients, Product, Data, and Design and discuss data analytics.
Experience using Databricks solutions within the cloud (AWS or Azure).
3+ years of industry experience in Data Science/Machine Learning as a data scientist/technical lead developing ML models with a business impact.
Experience with enhanced reporting and analysis solutions that leverage complex data sources derived from multiple internal systems.
Experience working with AWS cloud services: EC2, S3, RDS, Redshift and Glacier/Archival.
