The role
We are seeking a skilled data scientist or image analyst with expertise in developing image analysis pipelines and software solutions to join our R&D team. The successful candidate will focus on the development and optimization of our image analysis pipeline, transforming raw microscope images into high-quality, quantitative biological data.
Working closely with the software team, this role will also contribute to enhancing Hyperplex PCR™ assays by refining how numerical results and quality metrics are visualized, ensuring a seamless, intuitive, and user-friendly software experience. The position is ideal for an action-driven problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment and enjoys working at the intersection of data science, software development, and molecular diagnostics.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine image analysis modules to extract reproducible, quantitative results from microscopy images, including tasks such as 2D/3D feature segmentation, signal intensity analysis, spectral unmixing, and deconvolution.
- Conduct systematic performance evaluations of image analysis pipelines and develop quality control metrics for datasets and experiments.
- Automate and optimize software pipelines to improve computational efficiency, robustness, and scalability in high-throughput environments.
- Design and integrate user-friendly interfaces (UI) for seamless interaction with image analysis tools and visualization of experiment results, including figures, tables, plots and images.
- Maintain rigorous documentation of algorithms, software components, and experimental workflows.
- Work closely with the R&D, bioassay, and service teams to balance performance and quality between assays and image analysis.
- Maintain project timelines, document results, and communicate findings effectively.
- Contribute to risk management activities to ensure smooth project execution.
