Job Description
Advanced Robotics Group, LLC is looking for elite, experienced
Data Scientists who are seriously good at what they do and want to join an elite team defying conventional wisdom regarding what is possible with robotics
. As we continue to push the boundaries of what's possible, we're expanding our team of pioneers to create the future.
ARG is a driven team of technology experts developing a portfolio of non-consumer robots to operate fully autonomously in some exceptionally demanding environments. Accompanying our robotics solutions, we are refining a pioneering proprietary analytics platform providing deep insights from petabytes of data. Over the last 12 years, we have developed solutions to a range of autonomous robotics and analytics challenges still thought to be impossible by the outside and are expanding and refining our portfolio of solutions before emerging from stealth and going to market with a global footprint.
We solve the most difficult challenges.
We're looking for talented and driven individuals to join our team. If you're passionate about tackling complex challenges and excited to learn and grow in new technical domains, you'll feel right at home here.
We compensate generously including stock options and provide full medical, disability, and vision coverage, plus fun lunches and a stocked kitchen.
ARG is looking for a
Data Scientist with a deep analytical mindset and a strong foundation in signal processing, statistics, and physical intuition. This person will play a central role in helping us understand what our robots see, feel, and experience—using large, noisy sensor datasets to uncover meaningful trends, validate system performance, and generate insights that guide both internal development and client-facing deliverables.
You will:
- Analyze time series and high-resolution sensor data using advanced signal processing techniques,
- Validate sensor performance and cross-modal agreement as part of sensor fusion workflows,
- Apply statistical and probabilistic methods to identify outliers, quantify uncertainty, and ensure data integrity,
- Perform physics-grounded analysis and reasoning from first principles to interpret complex robotic data,
- Translate raw data into high-impact insights and visualizations for both internal stakeholders and external clients,
- Contribute to machine learning and computer vision workflows for post-processing analysis and performance evaluation,
- Collaborate with a dynamic group of innovative professionals and entrepreneurs,
- Think broadly and develop production-ready solutions to industry-wide problems.
What we’re looking for:
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem solving, and scientific communication skills
- Strong background in signal processing, scientific data analysis, and applied statistics
- Proficiency with Python tools such as NumPy, SciPy, Pandas/Polars, and matplotlib
- Background in physics, engineering, or a related quantitative discipline
- Ability to incorporate new best-in-class technologies quickly and reliably
- Strong problem-solving skills and a creative mindset
- BS/MS/PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with ML/CV tools (e.g., PyTorch, scikit-learn, OpenCV
- 5+ years of related experience
Location: Main development center in Houston, Texas
