Data Scientist

Location: India (Pune) Initially remote working reporting to Hamburg, Germany

Are you a skilled Data Scientist with a passion for finance and controlling? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Analytics, BI & Data Science team in our HQ in Hamburg, Germany and make a significant impact in the world of finance and corporate steering through data-driven insights!

Responsibilities And Key Activities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and understand key finance use cases that can benefit from data analysis (from proof-of-concept to implementation support)
  • Develop and implement predictive models and machine learning algorithms to support management and financial decision-making
  • Identifying optimization potential in internal business processes and deriving recommendations for action, as well as use and business cases
  • Evaluation of new technologies, tools, and integration of innovative approaches
  • Build end-to-end analytical solutions supported by data engineers and provide strategic recommendations based on data analysis to optimize financial operations, risk management, and investment strategies
  • Work closely with data engineers to ensure the availability and quality of relevant data and other colleagues from various Teams (finance, controlling, IT and BI) within the international Jungheinrich organization
  • Communicate the results of your work to various stakeholders

Professional Requirements

  • University/Masters’/Bachelors’ Degree in engineering, computer science, statistics, econometrics, or a related field
  • 4-6+ years of experience as Data Scientist in consulting firms or corporates
  • Fluency in Python and its data science, AI, visualization libraries (e.g. Panda) and SQL
  • Experience working with big data analytics solutions, like Azure Databricks (e.g. ApacheSpark, PySpark, Delta Lake) or are eager to learn it.
  • Experience in using frontend visualization tools, like SAP Analytics Cloud, PowerBI, Databricks

  • Strong analytical competencies, highly structured way of thinking, curiosity and pioneering spirit to explore new correlations
  • Ability to translate business requirements into use cases and analytical models
  • Fluent in English; German valuable
