For one of our clients, a leading European retailer, we are seeking a Data Scientist to join their expanding team and new development center in Romania.

As a Marketing Data Scientist (m/f/d), the role involves supporting marketing and product teams by enabling data-driven decision-making. The position requires analyzing customer and onsite data to optimize personalization, campaign performance, and create seamless customer journeys across various channels. The work directly influences how millions of users engage with the brand.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze customer and onsite data using SQL and Python to enhance marketing campaigns and operational decisions.
• Design and refine Data Science use cases such as next-best offers, A/B testing strategies, and customer journey analytics.
• Develop and deliver self-service BI solutions tailored to webshop analytics and customer segmentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide data-driven answers to business questions.
• Build scalable, reliable, and interpretable models using modern tools and best practices.

Required Experience:

• Proven experience in building forecasting models using machine learning and statistical methods.
• Strong background in online marketing data analysis and onsite tracking (e.g., Google Analytics, GA4).
• Proficiency in applying statistical methods and programming with Python.
• Advanced SQL skills (experience with BigQuery or Redshift is a plus).
• Practical experience with A/B testing frameworks and experimentation design.

Technical Skills:

• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Knowledge of data transformation tools (e.g., dbt).
• Familiarity with virtualization tools (e.g., Docker).
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
