Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join a large-scale data migration project in Bucharest, Romania. This full-time, on-site role involves analyzing, transforming, and optimizing data during the migration process, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and efficiency across Oracle, Microsoft SQL, and other relevant platforms. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data modeling, ETL, database optimization, and predictive analytics, leveraging advanced machine learning techniques to enhance data quality.

This is a long-term role with an extremely attractive compensation package.

Key Responsibilities

Data Migration & Transformation:

Extract, clean, transform, and migrate data from Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and other data sources.

Ensure data integrity, consistency, and optimization during the migration process.

Implement data validation techniques to minimize errors and discrepancies.

Data Analysis & Modeling:

Develop and maintain data models to support migration and business needs.

Identify and resolve data anomalies using statistical and machine learning techniques.

Perform predictive analytics to improve data migration efficiency.

Database Optimization & Performance Tuning:

Work with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and other database systems to optimize performance.

Implement indexing, partitioning, and query optimization techniques.

Develop ETL processes using tools like SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), and Apache NiFi.

Machine Learning & AI Integration:

Apply AI-driven approaches to detect migration issues and automate data cleansing.

Develop and deploy ML models for data anomaly detection and trend analysis.

Utilize libraries such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch for predictive modeling.

Collaboration & Documentation:

Work closely with DBAs, data engineers, and business analysts to ensure a smooth migration process.

Maintain detailed documentation of data migration processes, pipelines, and transformations.

Provide insights and recommendations to optimize database performance post-migration.

Required Skills & Experience

Five or more years of experience in data science, data migration, or database engineering.

Strong expertise in Oracle (PL/SQL), Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL), and PostgreSQL.

Proficiency in data science and analytics tools, including Python, R, SQL, Apache Spark, and Hadoop.

Experience with ETL tools such as SSIS, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), and Apache NiFi.

Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle large-scale data migration challenges.

Fluent in English; Romanian is a plus.
