Position Summary: Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Data Scientist - Boca Raton, FL. Summary of Responsibilities includes: * Research and devise innovative machine learning and statistical models for analyzing student/employee data. * Responsible for all stages of data science and statistical modeling projects. * Collaborate with administrators, faculty, and staff on analyzing and reporting institutional data. * Complete external surveys for the university (IPEDS, U.S. News, College Board, etc.). * Provide data extract files and ad hoc reports in response to internal and external inquiries. * Develop Power BI dashboards such as enrollment, admission, degrees, student surveys, etc. * Present the analysis and results to a varied audience, explaining the technical and domain-specific elements. * Research new data science developments and how they apply to institutional research. * Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and one years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and three years of appropriate experience required. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, research-oriented group. Advanced experience with SQL, Power BI, Excel, and at least one programming language (ex, Python, Java, R). Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis. Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 per year.
