Job Title: Machine Learning and Data Science Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Machine Learning (ML) and Data Science Manager to lead our team of data scientists, and analysts. This role is responsible for driving data-driven strategies related to marketing and growth, financial models, overseeing the development of machine learning models, and ensuring that insights generated contribute to organizational goals. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing data science initiatives in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

• Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of data scientists, ML engineers, and analysts.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
• Provide technical guidance and career development support to team members.

Strategy Development:

• Define and execute the data science and machine learning strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities for applying ML and data science to solve business problems.
• Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and techniques to ensure the team is leveraging cutting-edge practices.

Project Oversight:

• Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of data science projects, including problem formulation, data collection, modeling, deployment, and monitoring.
• Ensure timely delivery of projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in data preparation, feature engineering, model development, and evaluation.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as engineering, product, and business units to understand requirements and translate them into actionable data science solutions.
• Communicate insights and recommendations effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

Technical Contributions:

• Provide hands-on expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analytics when needed.
• Drive the implementation of scalable and efficient ML models in production environments.
• Establish robust data pipelines and infrastructure in collaboration with data engineering teams.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

• Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of data science initiatives.
• Monitor and optimize deployed models for performance and accuracy.
• Present regular updates to senior leadership on project outcomes and their business impact.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning, data science, or related roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial or team lead capacity.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R.
• Strong understanding of machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and tools (e.g., scikit-learn, Spark MLlib).
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to deploy ML models at scale in production environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
