Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of junior data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Set clear goals, monitor team performance, and ensure high-quality deliverables.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with data science leads across Asia Pacific to understand their business requirements, translate them into actionable data science projects, and deliver solutions that address business needs.
• Communicate complex data science concepts and insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment on goals and outcomes.

Project & Resource Management

• Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of data science projects, including scoping, planning, execution, and delivery.
• Allocate resources efficiently across multiple projects and prioritize initiatives based on business impact.

Technical Expertise & Collaboration

• Act as a technical expert, guiding the team in building and deploying advanced analytics, predictive models, and machine learning solutions.
• Collaborate closely with the data engineering team to ensure seamless integration of data pipelines, scalable infrastructure, and efficient workflows.

Innovation & Best Practices

• Drive the adoption of best practices in data science methodologies, coding standards, and model deployment strategies.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the team remains ahead of the curve.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field. Advanced degrees preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in data science, including 3+ years in a leadership or management role with proven track record of strong people and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven track record of delivering impactful data science projects in a cross-functional and geographically dispersed environment.

Technical Skills:

• Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with big data tools (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
• Expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data visualization tools.
• Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.

• Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
