Role Description


This is an internship role for a Software Engineer at Arcanero.io. The Data Science and Computational Finance Intern will be involved in back-end web development, software development, and programming tasks. This is a hybrid role located in Brisbane City, QLD, with the opportunity for some work from home. Please read the qualifications CAREFULLY before applying.


Qualifications


  • Computational Finance Degree and enrolled in post Graduate related program at university.
  • Computer Science and Software Development skills with the following:
  • ***Proficiency in computer languages including R and Python with native and high level understanding of R,and its relationship to the financial markets as an absolute necessity***
  • NOTE: The successful applicant will jump straight into the dev environment and program in R with financial market projects already in development being handed off the person. We do not have the resources to train someone in "R" and computational finance basics, and employees are BLOCKED from using LLMs to help develop code within our highly secure VM environment due to the sensitive nature of our work and IP. DO NOT apply for this position if you don't have R in your toolbelt. You are highly likely to be rejected.
  • Experience with Quantstrat and Blotter, and the use of Bloomberg Terminals a very competitive asset.
  • Experience with financial securities or trading desk an asset.
  • Back-End Web Development skills using Shiny
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • MUST BE LOCATED in Brisbane and be able to travel to the office.
