Jacobs is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Quality Engineer to be part of our growing team. This team member will be responsible for quality control for the metrics and data pipeline supporting StreetLight Data’s suite of products. They will oversee StreetLight’s data processing efforts, and help to automate and organize data QA and monitoring. This position reports to the Data Science Manager, Validations team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee QA for StreetLight’s many incoming data feeds
  • Identify and address data anomalies
  • Define and automate existing data QA pipelines
  • Aggregate and process real-world data for modeling and validation efforts
  • Prepare trained models for monthly deployment and monitor their performance
  • Create visualizations and dashboards to help tell stories with data
  • Characterize, validate and monitor the quality of StreetLight’s metrics, algorithms, and data artifacts
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Engineers and Product Managers to ensure data sources meet quality standards. Work with our team located across the United States, Canada, and eastern Europe


Here's what you'll need

  • 4+ years of industry experience working with data to solve real-world problems
  • Expertise in SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL or BigQuery preferred), and good understanding of relational concepts
  • Experience with scripting and automation using tools such as R or Python
  • Rigorous analytical skills, with a meticulous approach to validating results and ensuring data reliability
  • Independent, problem-solver with a proven ability to identify and solve data integrity issues in real-world environments, inform decision making, and tell stories
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and methodical in reporting and documenting work
  • Very strong communication skills - written, visual (presentations) and verbal
  • Geo-spatial skills are a plus
