The Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Operations Engineer to lead and oversee all aspects of our data operations and management. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity, quality, and availability of our data assets. The Director of Data Operations will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive data excellence, implement data governance, and support the organization's data-driven initiatives.

What You’ll Do

  • Data Strategy : Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy in alignment with the company's goals and objectives. Define data-related KPIs and establish a roadmap for data operations.
  • Data Governance : Implement and manage data governance policies, standards, and processes to maintain data quality, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Data Acquisition : Oversee the acquisition and ingestion of data from various sources, ensuring that data is accurate, complete, and timely.
  • Data Warehousing : Manage and optimize data warehousing infrastructure, ensuring data availability, scalability, and performance.
  • Data Quality : Establish data quality metrics and implement data cleansing and validation processes to maintain the accuracy and reliability of data assets.
  • Data Integration : Lead data integration efforts to ensure seamless data flow between systems and departments, enabling efficient data utilization.
  • Data Analytics : Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to support their needs for high-quality data, helping to uncover insights and trends that drive informed decision-making.
  • Team Leadership : Manage and mentor a team of data professionals, including data engineers, data analysts, and data administrators. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Technology Evaluation : Stay up-to-date with emerging data technologies and tools. Evaluate and implement new solutions that enhance data operations and support business objectives.
  • Data Security : Implement and maintain robust data security protocols to protect sensitive information and prevent data breaches.
  • Reporting: Generate and present regular reports on data operations performance, data quality, and key metrics to senior leadership.

Are You A Fit?

What You Need

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a data operations or data management leadership role, with a track record of successfully managing and optimizing data assets.
  • Strong knowledge of data management, data warehousing, ETL processes, and data governance best practices.
  • Familiarity with data analytics and business intelligence tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving work environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, DataBricks, AWS, etc.).
  • Knowledge of big data paradigms such as Map Reduce
  • Previous experience in industries with high data volume and complexity, such as finance or e-commerce.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent but minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Occasional moving and lifting equipment and furniture are required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling and climbing ladders
